Much of the energy in this short film is focused on the beauty of the piano performance, immediately provoking an emotional response from us. Yet the woman in the film, who is also viewing the pianist perform Chopin’s nocturne, subverts the notion that any response to the music merits discussion, or even enables it at all. In response to a question demanding rationality, she claims that she can’t offer an objective interpretation of passion and emotion, and that such a discussion would be of no value. The work questions the validity of interpreting art, and the limits of our ability to convey our emotional reaction to it to others. - Availability: Out Of Stock
